Desert landscapes, abstract wilderness and fierce coastline attracts adventure seekers – families and honeymooners.

Namibia’s main attractions for visitors are stunning scenery, pristine wilderness and fascinating wildlife. An infinite supply of sun bright skies, star filled nights, vast open landscapes and an abundance of space make this a visually stunning and soul-enriching country.

There is a real diversity of experiences and some truly incredible places to stay:

Skeleton Coast – the remote northwest of the country with spectacular scenery, stunning coastal dunes, barren coastline, stark desert interior and home to the elusive Himba people. One of Africa’s most amazing places to visit.

Sossusvlei – the place to see the huge red sand dunes for which Namibia is famous. An alluring destination with vast gravel plains, towering mountain ranges and deep sculptured canyons. A hot-air ballooning paradise.

Namibrand – one of Africa’s largest private nature reserves. A stunning desert area with huge red sand dunes, vegetated dune valleys, sand and gravel plains alongside impressive mountains. Some wonderful lodges as well as guided hiking and fly-camping through this desert region.

Etosha National Park – Namibia’s prime game-viewing area, particularly for self-drive trips. The defining feature is the huge Etosha pan of silvery-white sand and bluring mirages on the horizon. Dry season is definitely the best time of year.

Palmwag – a private concession within a superb desert wilderness area. very scenic landscape with some excellent game viewing of the indigenous desert elephant, mountain zebra, giraffe, cheetah and lion. The chance to track rhino on foot is a real highlight.

Twyfelfontein – a semi-desert wilderness with dramatic scenary, desert elephant, fascinating rock art and local culture. Great region for self-driving due to its central location between the Skeleton Coast and Etosha whilst north of the Central Highlands and Swakopmund.

Central Highlands – north of Windhoek, south of Etosha and east of Swakopmund this is an region of rolling hills, guest farms and lodges. Most self-drive trips will involve an overnight in this area with the chance to visit one of the cheetah conservation projects.

Swakopmund – Namibia’s main coastal town, offering a choice of shops and restaurants. Activities central with dune boarding, quad-biking, sea-kayaking and sky-diving all on offer.
